leftover thanksgiving turkey with mixed greens, tomato, avocado, pickles, havarti cheese, fat free mayo and left over star pizza house dressing on sourdough. messy and delicious Thu, Nov. 27th, 2008, 10:49 am NYC sammies
well i guess i still have this here sandwich thingy. i don't have the time to update, really. maybe i'll just post pictures and not type anything out. i never have anything profound to say about sammiches anyway. i ate three awesome sandwiches in NYC: the cobb sandwich from tiny's giant sandwich shop in the lower east side. $5 meatloaf sandwich from elmo's in chelsea. $8.95 corned beef sandwich from 2nd avenue deli. stephanie (a jew) tried to order a reuben at this KOSHER deli. hilarious. $13.75 we split Thu, Aug. 28th, 2008, 06:03 pm turkey lurkey
ben always gets this delicious, thinly sliced deli turkey that i covet, so i tried it out. i made a yumz grilled sandwich on the foreman w/ cheddar, super yummy turkey slices, spinach, tomato, avocado with mustard on wheat bread. hot melty goodness. had it with baked lays and some pickles. party in my mouf. Mon, Jul. 28th, 2008, 08:58 pm QUARTER MUFF
well today i had my first muffaletta!! i've made vegetarian versions in the past and tried a veg one at colinas, but nothing compared to the REAL THING. ben and i went to jason's for dinner. the QUARTER MUFF is salami, ham, provolone with olive mix served hot on italian bread. perfecto! now tell me where else to find these bad boys. yay
i found a coupon in the houston press for a free chicago style hot dog with the purchase of any sandwich. stephanie mentioned the pastrami sammich, and since i have never had that before i just had to try it. the hot dog was pretty good (i took the tomatoes off since there is a salmonella scare right now) and the sandwich was absolutely delicious! it had thin slices of juicy pastrami, sauerkraut, provolone, pickles and onions on rye. the best part was the entire thing was $6! chicago italian beef
Wed, May. 21st, 2008, 08:32 am fake blt
dinner: delicious fake blt with fat free mayo, sriracha, crunchy morningstar bacon, crisp lettuce, fresh roma tomatoes w/ dill pickle slices on toasted bread. made seasoned "french fried" potatoes in the oven mmm hmm.
well i played hookie on friday and wanted to eat somewhere i hadn't been before. i'd been wanting to hit up beaver'ssince they opened so decided to give it a shot. we sat out on the nice deck since it was such a lovely day. i ordered the "beaver nut burger" which is their homemade veggie burger. it was amazing, filling and just the right amount of food. the pattie is made of brown rice, cashews, walnuts, herbs, cheddar cheese & spices and sits between a sorta sweet bun w/ lettuce, tomato, and homemade sweet pickles (which i normally don't enjoy but these were good). $6 Wed, May. 14th, 2008, 11:16 am falafel burger
i made two big ol falafel patties for dinner and we ate em on toasted white bread. soo tasty and filling! i made the patties spicier than normal & it ruled! i put mustard, ranch, spinach, roma tomato slices & pickles on mine. nom nom nom Sun, Apr. 27th, 2008, 02:17 pm skrimp pobyz
jay suggested we eat at the cajun greek in galveston on the way to the beach house. we took his advice and good thing we did. the po'boy was amazing! soft bread, tartar sauce, tasty fried shrimp w/ lettuce and tomato. the poor boy came with french fries that were just perfect. $7
made meatloaf for the first time tonight for a lil double date w/ stephanie and erik. she helped w/ the recipe adn it turned out delicious!! we made sandwiches on poppy seed kaiser rolls with spinach, tomato, pickles, mayo and mustard. mac n cheese on the side.
dinner: ho-made falafel pita sammies w/ lettuce, tomato, cucumber, black olives, pickles and ho-made tzatziki sauce. n2it. Mon, Apr. 21st, 2008, 06:17 pm patty melt me
wiggz and i made this and you are jealous i promise. lean beef murf burg patty, melted swiss + cheddar, sauteed onions on buttered sourdough bread w/ homemade sweet potato fries and pickles. so mmmmm.
ben and i stopped at central market after work to have a sandwich on the patio. we used to go all of the time but haven't been in probably a year. we have been missing out, they're better than ever. i did the "Create your own" and had garlic & herb spread with avocados, lettuce, tomato, pickles, grilled asparagus, onions, sauerkraut, capers, pepperocinis on sourdough bread. droooool. $4.49
i created a wonderfully delicious sandwich for lunch today. tuna salad (albacore tuna, mayo, mustard, dill relish, green olives, garlic salt, pepper, dill weed) with melted provolone, pickles, spinach, tomatoes, sprouts & jalapenos on rosemary ciabatta bread. ima eat the other half for lunch tomorrow. yesss Mon, Mar. 17th, 2008, 11:54 am freegan?
i'll eat anything as long as it's free. i grubbed down on the most excellent chicken sandwich on friday from moonshine grill. a normally fancy schmancy place was taken over by all the stinky people from sxsw. from wed-sat, 11-6 during sxsw this place offered free beverages & food to people w/ a vip badge. i am not a VIP, but erik bogle is and he invited emily and me out to lunch last friday. we all kinda split everything, but this is the chicken artichoke blt. i took off the "b" and gave it to erik. but otherwise came with lettuce, tomato, onion, provolone and artichokes. mmm.
i made tuna salad (dill relish, green olives, mustard, mayo, horseradish, salt & pepper) for the first time since i was a kid. topped it w/ a slice of muenster cheese, 2 slices of tomatoes and broiled it for like 5 minutes. i think i'm obsessed! Wed, Feb. 13th, 2008, 06:23 pm half burg
i have always been jealous of people ordering bacon on their burger so i made my own version today. cooked a morningstar black bean burger & 3 strips of morningstar bacon in the oven placed a slice of muenster cheese on top w/ black & green olives, pickles, ranch dressing, mustard & hot sauce. i need new ingredients!
OH HOLY CRAP! i think i just invented the best breakfast sammich ever! this thing was colossal. i layered a quarter of an avocado on a biscuit w/ louisiana hot sauce, salt, pepper and morningstar bacon. check it out, it's HUGE.
yeah! i've been trying to eat breakfast for some time now. i think i am getting used to it, since i am doing it on the weekend. this was my breakfast from yesterday morning. i made a morningstar breakfast sausage pattie and toasted an english muffin added butter and half of a slice of fat free cheese. i feel like this is what mcdonald's breakfast would taste like. yum?
oops guess i forgot about this sandwich and many others for that matter. n-e-wayz before leaving austin last weekend, we stopped for a quick breakfast at star seeds. since i don't love breakfast and it was already noon, i decided on the hummus sandwich. i think i made the right decision because it was light and tasty! the sandwich came on fluffy pita bread with hummus, lettuce, tomatoes, sprouts and onions. i added hot sauce, salt & pepper. deelissh!
